Enhanced Protection in Google Chrome protects you from dangerous websites, downloads, and extensions. This is one of the modes available in Google Chrome’s built-in security function called “Safe Browsing”.
The Safe Browsing feature has two modes:
the standard Protection mode, which is turned on by default, and the Enhanced Protection mode, which is a little more advanced.
When Enhanced Protection mode is activated, Chrome can monitor and respond to your online activities. Before you get into trouble, Chrome always checks URLs that aren’t normal, as well as sample pages of the website, and does this in real-time.
Enabling it also makes other Google apps (like Gmail, Drive, and so on) safer. It will offer better protection for your Google account based on a complete view of risks.
Everyone should turn on Chrome’s “enhanced protection” because it is the best way to protect against malware and phishing.
How to Enable Enhanced Protection in Google Chrome?
For PC:
- On your PC launch the Goggle Chrome browser, click the three-dot menu button in the upper-right corner, and click “Settings” from the drop-down list.
- On the settings screen, click on “Privacy and Security” on the left-hand side.
From the right-side menu of options, click the “Security” section.
You will be able to see that default “standard protection” is enabled, above it select “Enhanced Protection”.
That’s it you have enabled Chrome’s Enhanced protection mode.
For Android:
- Open Chrome, and tap the More menu marked with the three vertical dots.
- Next, tap on “Settings” and navigate to Safe Browsing.
- Under Safe Browsing, Choose the Enhanced protection option.
For iOS:
- On your iPhone, open Google Chrome. Select “Settings” from the list by tapping on the three-dot menu icon.
- By tapping Sync and Google Services, navigate to Google Services.
- Turn on the switch next to “Safe Browsing.” Then, tap the Done button to save the changes you just made.
