Today Bharti Airtel, India’s largest mobile network operator launched its new logo and signature Tune. This is considered as part of its massive re-branding and repositioning exercise towards its Global march.
Airtel the world’s fifth largest telco is offering services in 19 Countries which has more than 150 million users in India, 40 million in Africa and another 10 million in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
Also Airtel announced it has crossed the 200 million-customer-mark on Thursday and said it will launch its 3G services by the end of 2010.
According to Sunil Mittal, the new identity is symbolic of the company’s youthful and dynamic global identity that it poses with widespread operations.
“Our unique symbol is an interpretation of the ‘a’ in airtel. the curved shape & the gentle highlights on the red color make it warm & inviting, almost as if it were a living object. it represents a dynamic force of unparalleled energy that brings us and our customers closer,” Mittal said.
“Red is part of our heritage. it is the color of energy & passion that expresses the dynamism that has made airtel the success it is today, in india, and now on the global stage,” said Sanjay Kapoor, CEO Bharti Airtel.
The new Logo is already implemented on Airtel DTH network, but the logo currently visible onlyon some news channel like Times Now and NDTV. I don’t whether it’s a strategy to popularise the logo or a technical glitch because currently Airtel logo is not appearing on rest of the channels.
