Today WordPress 3.1.4 and 3.2 RC3 has been released and are waiting in your Dashboards. WordPress 3.1.4 is a security release which fixes one known issue and also incorporates several other security fixes and hardening measures.
This release fixes a vulnerability that could allow a malicious Editor-level user to gain further access to the site. If you blog content written by several authors, then you must apply this update to fix the issue. This vulnerability was revealed by K. Gudinavicius of SEC Consult.I installed the update few hours back and so far I can say it is good and it didn’t break any blog themes or plugins.
Regarding WordPress 3.2 Release Candidate 3, this release was about all that stood in the way of a final release of WordPress 3.2. So the third release candidate for 3.2 contains all of the fixes in 3.1.4 and few minor RTL, JavaScript, and user interface fixes; and ensures graceful failures if 3.2 is run on PHP4. As a reminder, the minimum requirements to run version 3.2 is PHP 5.2.4 and MySQL 5.0.
