Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Now Available for Download

Windows 7  Service Pack 1 update was  officially released  by today  Microsoft, also the final version of  the first service pack  for Windows 2008 R2  was released to  the general public. The Service Pack 1 is now available for download at Microsoft’s Website , or via Windows Update.

Windows 7 Service Pack 1 doesn’t provide any drastic changes, it is primarily a roll-up of fixes. SP1 includes some performance improvements for Direct2D/DirectWrite and the WARP10 software renderer, and provide OS-level support for the Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX).

If you apply Windows 7 updates every Tuesday then this update Windows 7 Service Pack 1 will be around in 73 MB in size, because as said before SP 1  is a compilation of minor bug fixes and previous updates you might have already installed.

Notable changes in SP1:

According to Microsoft, Windows 7 SP1 will help keep your PCs well supported by delivering ongoing updates, many of which have been made previously available through Windows Update. It does, however, include client-side support for RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory which are two new virtualization features enabled in Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
