About Terroir Game:

It’s a simulation game that allows you to manage your own vineyard.

Visually, the game is appealingly simplistic, and the soundtrack is soothing and undemanding. It’s not easy to manage a vineyard, as the business is both costly and vulnerable to the whims of Mother Nature and harsh critics.

Terroir gives you a small vineyard, to begin with, but you can always buy more land to grow it into a bigger vineyard. There are vacant lots that can be used for construction, lakes that can protect your grapes from disease, and various soil types that can support a wide range of grape plantings.

After planting grapes, you’ll need to tend to them carefully through the changing seasons so that they mature to the ideal point. The next step is to make the wine itself by choosing the method of crushing and pressing the fruit and the length of time it will spend in oak barrels before being bottled and sold. You can choose to participate in optional mini-quests labelled “Chance” or “Circumstance.”

These can be beneficial, such as a letter from the mayor announcing a visit to the vineyard, or detrimental, such as an order to donate an absurd number of bottles to military efforts. Your vineyard can quickly go bad, and if you get punished for failing one of these quests, it could be game over.
