Trying to win a court case against a man who claims that he found a whole dead mouse in a can of Mountain Dew, the multinational soft drink’s company PepsiCo produced shocking defense that there is no chance to see a mouse in a Mountain Dew because its body would be dissolved into a “jelly-like substance.”
In 2009, a man named Ronald Ball from Illinois purchased a Mountain Dew can from a vending machine, when he drank it he became violently ill and as he poured the remaining amount into a cup, a mouse poured out too, as he claims.He further claims to have contacted Pepsi to complain and they sent an adjuster to retrieve the mouse.
Ball who is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, said the company would not return the mouse until it had decomposed, ruling out additional testing by the plaintiff.Since then, the case has gone to court and Pepsi has moved to dismiss it.
According to Madison St Clair Record , Pepsi has moved to dismiss the case based on the simple fact that a mouse that was trapped in a can of the soda would have dissolved and become a “jelly like” substance long before anyone had a chance to drink the contents.
As Dr. McGill explains, if a mouse is submerged in a fluid with the acidity of Mountain Dew, after 4 to 7 days in the fluid the mouse will have no calcium in its bones and bony structures, the mouse’s abdominal structure will rupture, and its cranial cavity (head) is also likely to rupture… By 30 days of exposure to the fluid, all of the mouse’s structures will disintegrate to the point where the structures (excepting possibly a portion of the tail) will not be recognizable and, therefore, the animal itself will not be recognizable. Instead, after 30 days in the fluid, the mouse will have been transformed into a ‘jelly-like’ substance.
It is interesting to see that Pepsi Co. has no problem admitting to such an outrageous effect that could have been caused by their beverage. This information certainly says a lot about the products manufactured by the company. So Mountain Dew drinkers you will never find mouse , bugs or human body parts, due to the acid in the soda it will dissolve them.
