Today at Nokia Connection 2011 event in Singapore, Nokia N9 was unveiled by the Finnish Cellphone maker . Nokia N9 is the first-ever (last) smartphone based on MeeGo platform,as the Nokia will be going the Windows Phone 7 route by the end of the year. N9 is a pure touch screen phone without any front-facing buttons and sports an 8-megapixel camera, and has a 3.9-inch high resolution (854 x 480) curved glass AMOLED display.
The smartphone is available in black, cyan and magenta clolours, it weights 135 grams and measures 116.45 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm.Nokia N9 is quipped with 1GHz TI OMAP 3630 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16/64GB of storage, a rear-facing 8 megapixel auto focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash that allows for 720p video, and a front camera for video calls.
It runs on MeeGo 1.2 with Dolby Headphone and Dolby Digital Plus enabled, and also has GPS, NFC, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, a micro USB port, an 1450 mAh battery, and pentaband WCDMA, quad-band GSM, and HSDPA 14.4Mbps support.
Nokia’s head of design, Marko Ahtisaari, said: “With the Nokia N9, we re-evaluated the way we thought a smartphone should act. It should be simple and it should blend software, hardware, services and content into a unique user experience.”

Nokia N9 to cost between $600 and $700 outright. Exact pricing will be confirmed when the N9 is launched in the third quarter of this year.
