New iPad in India on April 27 for Rs. 30,500

The New iPad aka iPad 3 will reach India and 11 other countries on April 27th 2012, the starting price of the device will be Rs. 30,500. Apple today officially announced that the New iPad will be available in 12 new countries next Friday, and 9 more countries  on April 27,2012.

Originally announced on March 7, the New iPad sports a Retina display with 2048x1536p resolution, A5X chip with quad-core graphics and a 5 mega-pixel iSight Camera with advanced optics that supports 1080p HD video.Also iPad 3 still delivers the same all-day 10 hour battery life, while remaining amazingly thin and light.

Several Online stores in India, started selling the device for a whopping price RS 59,990 and this launch will be a serious slap to those online stores.

The new iPad will be available in India in a choice of black or white, iPad 3 with 16 GB of memory that works only on wi-fi networks is priced at Rs 30,500 rupees, while the one that can run on both wi-fi as well as fourth-generation (4G) mobile networks costs Rs 38,900.

However,the new iPad is not compatible with the 4G LTE network now available in India and customers will have to make do with the 3G networks. Because Indian carriers for instance a Airtel 4G  users different radio spectrum band than the ones used by the 4G iPad,supported only on the networks of US and Canadian carriers.

Bharti Airtel recently launched India’s first 4G network in Kolkata and is expanding the high-speed network to Bangalore, Pune and Chandigarh in the coming months.

VAT (INR 34,762 ex VAT ) for the 32GB model and INR 42,500 inc. VAT( INR 40,476 ex VAT) for the 64GB model. The iPad Wi-Fi + 4G models will be available for a suggested retail price of INR 38,900 inc. VAT (INR 37,048 exVAT) for the 16GB model, INR 44,900 inc.
