Today service pack 1 for Microsoft office 2013 has been released and both 32bit and 64bit version download links of the SP 1 are now available.Office 2013 Service Pack 1 brings a lot of security , stability and functionality updates along with fixes for Office line of products.This is the major update to the Office platform and as promised, Microsoft rolled out the update today.
According to Microsoft, SP1 package includes a number of “rollup” fixes, updates to SkyDrive Pro (renamed to OneDrive) and better support for modern hardware.
“Today we’ve released Service Pack 1 (SP1) for the 2013 set of Office products including Office 2013, SharePoint 2013 and Exchange Server 2013. SP1 delivers greater stability, expanded functionality, security enhancements and improved compatibility with Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2,”said by Microsift in its official blog .
Office 2013 Service Pack 1 includes following enhancements and fixes :
1. New “apps for Office” capabilities and APIs for developers
2. Compatibility fixes for Windows 8.1 and Internet Explorer 11.
3. Better support for modern hardware, such as high DPI devices and the precision touchpad.
4.Improvements to the Click-to-Run virtualization technology that installs and updates Office 365 desktop applications
5.Power Map for Excel, a 3D visualization tool for mapping, exploring, and interacting with geographical and temporal data in Excel, is now available to Office 365 ProPlus subscription customers.
6. SkyDrive Pro is now renamed as OneDrive for Business
Office 2013 SP1 is delivered to users via Windows Update, the size of the update is around 650 MB or 775 MB,depending on the version and you can also download the service pack 1 manually from below links according to your system architecture.
