Microsoft PC Manager: Enhances the performance of Windows 11 and 10 PCs

Microsoft PC Manager

Microsoft PC Manager is a new Windows optimization app made by Microsoft. It makes it easy to speed up your computer, check its overall health, remove viruses, and more.

The free utility was first released as a preview by Microsoft in 2022. After spending a considerable amount of time in beta, Microsoft finally released the stable version.

PC Manager is essentially a portal to Windows’ built-in tools. There’s nothing particularly new about it, but that doesn’t make it less valuable.

Microsoft designed it with the less tech-savvy in mind, as they may not know where to find various Windows built-in optimization and cleanup tools.

Microsoft PC Manager Interface and Features:

Once installed, the app sits in the bottom-right corner of the system tray. You can access it anytime.

When you launch it, the PC Manager presents system data and a menu with various configuration options.

Microsoft divided the app into two main parts, cleanup and security, as shown in the screenshots.

In the “Cleanup” tab, you can see the number of processes that are currently active, how much memory is being used, how much storage space is available, when the system was last restarted, and when it was last turned on.

Whenever you hit the “Boost” button. It will immediately delete temporary files and free up memory.

The Health Check feature helps you find any problems on your computer running Windows 11 or 10.

It searches for all kinds of extra files, not just temporary files, like Windows cache, system logs, and recent file lists. It also tells you which programs we can turn off during startup to speed up boot the process.

Storage Management is where you’ll find options for decluttering your computer.

In Process Management, apps launched by the user are displayed. You can view the memory being used by each process and kill them individually.

You can view and disable all the programs that run at system startup by using the Startup apps feature.

Microsoft PC Manager: Security and Updates

The security tab includes options to scan the system, check for Windows updates, and enable browser protection. You can also fix the taskbar and control the pop-ups.

PC Manager- Security Features

When you click the “Scan” button, Microsoft Defender Antivirus checks a number of locations on your PC, such as add-ons for your browser, startup programs, critical system folders, and device drivers. It takes a while for the scan to finish, but once it does, you’ll see some suggestions that could make your system safer.

You can get the newest Windows updates, virus definitions for Microsoft defender and also updates for drivers, by going to “Windows Update.”

Thanks to the Browser Protection Module, malicious programs cannot alter the system’s default browser.

Fixing the taskbar’s appearance and bringing back removed toolbars are both possible with the Taskbar Repair function.

Finally, “Pop-up Management” prevents unwanted app notifications from appearing. This feature appears to block adware.

Microsoft’s new PC Manager program is great for maintaining computers. It optimizes Windows computers by cleaning out junk, managing programs, and providing system information.

It will be interesting to see how the software grows after it leaves beta.
