Today Indian manufacturer Micromax launched a new Android 4.0 tablet called ” MicroMax FunBook”, the main highlight of this tablet is, it has latest Android Ice cream Sandwich OS, powered by 1.2GHz processor and available at RS 6,500 only.
The Funbook comes with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 480 pixels resolution, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor with a Mali GPU, 4GB of onboard memory , microSD card slot, 512MB of RAM and has 2,800 mAh battery .
Apart from this, the tablet supports 3G dongle via a USB, and features a mini USB port,HDMI out port, Wi-Fi support , 0.3 megapixel front facing camera.
It seems with this tablet Mircromax targets college students, as the tablet is shipped with e-learning app and content from Pearson, Scholarshub and other publishers.Also the funbook is aimed at those who cannot afford expensive Android tablets from big brands like Samsung or Motorola.
The dedicated E-learning app in funbook carries reading materials, videos, multimedia, tests, assessment, references from leading content brands like Pearson, Everonn, GK Publishers, Scholarshub, Vidyalankar, Universal Tutorials, CAPS, Zion and many more. The app also has more than 500 smart courses ranging from Class 1 to Degree courses and even preparatory material for Medical, Engineering and MBA, making it India’s largest education exchange. Micromax also offering interactive course material for CBSE ranging from class 1 till class 12th on a 4GB MicroSD card for Rs. 799.
For entertainment purposes, Funbook comes pre-loaded with the Bolly Buzz and M clips app, which offers over 6000 songs &4000 videos and arrives with a Live TV app, which is made available in partnership with Zenga TV. Similarly they have tied up with Indiagames.com for Android games and Bigflix.com for movies.
Additionally, the device comes bundled with a TATA PHOTON 3G dongle (USB Modem) which will offer 1GB of free data usage for two months.
