Mamutu Behavior Blocker for Free

Posted by

Mamutu is based on the Emsisoft Anti-Malware Behavior Blocker and monitors in realtime all active programs for malicious behavior (Behavior Blocking). It recognizes new and unknown Malware without the need of daily pattern updates.

Generally a 1 year subscription of Emsisoft Mamutu 3 will cost $20 or £17.91 or RS 321, but today you can get Mamutu 3 for free without any restrictions.

The problem most anti-malware tools have is staying ahead of the curve. Those that rely solely on definition files and malware signatures to block, spot and remove malicious software from your PC are only ever as good as the last update. Even if they update several times a day, there’s a critical gap in your PC’s armor between the time a virus, Trojan or other form of malware enters the wild and a suitable fix being developed and released by the anti-malware manufacturer.

Most virus infections occur in those first few hours after the malware escapes into the wild before anti-virus signatures are updated to block them. These Zero-Day attacks are increasingly common, and your security package may not be equipped to deal with them. With this in mind, it’s clear that a single package can’t provide bulletproof protection against the never-ending threat of malware, which is why you should develop a multi-layered approach to security. Enter, stage left, Mamutu.

Mamutu works differently to signature-based update packages by looking more generally at how your system’s running, spotting tell-tale signs of malware activity as opposed to relying on definitions to help it spot specific types of malware. This behavioural-based approach helps Mamutu spot and block malware that other packages might miss.

Of course, you want the best of all worlds, which is where Mamutu’s versatility comes to the fore. It’s been designed specifically to work in conjunction with your existing anti-malware protection, not in place of it. Conventional wisdom tells us that you shouldn’t install two security products alongside each other, but Mamutu is different. It’s designed so you keep your security package in place, and install Mamutu alongside it, giving you the added reassurance that two packages are working in place of one to protect your PC from threats.

That’s all well and good, but that extra layer of protection is going to have a noticeable effect on performance, right? Wrong: Mamutu is designed to make minimal demands on system resources, so you can get that extra protection without bringing your PC grinding to a halt. There are no signature updates to worry about, no scans to perform – Mamutu simply gives you the control you need to keep your PC safe from harm.

The latest version introduces a new feature called community based alert reduction. Simply put, even legitimate software can sometimes exhibit malware-like behaviour, which is why you need help determining if a program is safe or not. Mamutu taps into its user database to show you what other Mamutu users did when the program in question was flagged, giving you more information to make an informed decision about it.

    Thanks, Sambasiva

  5. I like to test this new antivirus !
In order to compare with what I have now!
    Thanks !!

  6. Have been a multiple license user for >6 years.
    1) Virus database and heuristics are more than adequate for my risk profile.
    2) I like the spartan functionality of the program and it’s GUI.
    3) It has all the configuration options I require (without the bloat of the added HIPs that many other vendors include with their AVs.)
    4) System resources: Memory usage is a bit high, but CPU remains low. Loading times / boot times are reasonable.

  7. I like the ability to use it as a secondary scanner. Thanks in advance for the opportunity to try VBA32.

  8. I thnk the antivirus is simple to operate than the other ones available in market.i would like to test this software for knowing it further.
