Lava Mobiles today launched Lava Xolo X900, World’s First Intel MedField powered smart phone in Indian market for RS 22,000.
Initially announced at MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2012, Xolo X900 smart phone is powered by Intel Medfield chipset with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor with Hyper Threading, 400 MHz graphics core, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 4.03 inch display with 1024×600 resolution, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 MP front camera and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich)OS.
Price and Availability :
XOLO X900 smartphone will be available from April 23rd 2012 onwards in India on Xolo.in and with Croma, followed by availability in other retail chains, general trade and online stores from early May. The device is available to customers at a best-buy price of approximately INR 22,000.
My View :
I think this mobile will be a great entry for Lava Mobiles into Android mobile space and the world’s Intel based phone will be great selling factor. But at the same time the mobile few discouraging factors such as, lack of ICS and the Price, INR 22k for Android 2.3 single core phone is very much high.

Intel Corporation and Lava International Ltd., one of India’s fastest-growing mobile handset companies, today announced the general availability of the XOLO X900, the first smartphone with Intel inside.
The partnership between Intel and Lava was announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February. The XOLO X900 is based on Intel’s smartphone reference design featuring the Intel® Atom™ processor Z2460 with Intel® Hyper Threading Technology and supporting HSPA+ 3G connectivity.
The high-performance 1.6 GHz Atom™ processor with Hyper Threading Technology brings speed and multi-tasking performance to consumers’ fingertips. The leading-edge 400 MHz graphics clock and the full 1080p HD video encoding and playback make this phone a perfect entertainment device, providing users with an immersive gaming and video experience. The XOLO X900 is housed in a sleek design with a 4.03-inch high-resolution LCD touch screen for crisp text and vibrant images. At launch, the X900 will run on Android Gingerbread*, with a planned over-the -air software upgrade to Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich* platform shortly thereafter. Intel’s technology enables a high-performance user experience, all while maintaining great battery life – up to 5 hours of 3G browsing, 45 hours of audio and 8 hours of talk time.
