KMPlayer is the best Free and easy to use video player for Windows systems that manages to deliver a high-quality experience to the user. This all in one media player covers allmost all video & audio formats such as VCD, DVD, AVI, MKV, Ogg Theora, OGM, 3GP, MPEG-1/2/4, WMV, RealMedia, QuickTime etc.
Also it has an extra feature to play Incomplete/Damaged AVI file, Locked Media Files while downloading or sharing, Compressed Audio Album (zip, rar) and so on.
It handles a wide range of subtitles and allows you to capture audio, video, and screenshots in many ways. The player provides both internal and external filters with a fully controlled environment without grappling with DirectShow merit system.
The KMPlayer includes almost all the essential decoders required for media playback. Furthermore, to get beyond the limitation of internal decoders, the external ones such as commercial h.264 decoders or cyberlink/intervideo audio decoders can be specified, so that KMP works optimally by the users’ own customization. Even though the KMP is based upon directshow structure, it supports Winamp, Realmedia and Quicktime by the internal logic. Thus, it is possible to specify where to try to connect firstly the media in preferences.
In short, the player provides a strong hybrid structure efficient for interconnecting various directshow filters, winamp input&dsp plugin, and internal filters. The most outstanding feature is that the player has the full control of filter connections to prevent a media playback from being messed.
The installation process takes merely a few moments, you will be presented with the options of installing internal and/or external codecs, the KMPlayer SDK file and also different skins for the player. Installing KMPlayer is quite simple and besides choosing the destination folder and the components which you wish to install, there’s not much else to talk about.
KMPlayer plays a wide range of audio and video formats with no fuss. Sharpen video playback, change picture properties, apply filters, or capture video from within the program. KMPlayer is lightweight and minimal in its interface, but can also be customized with different skins, plug-ins, and playback options.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I have probably looked at over a hundred and KMPlayer is the best by far to me. Plays any audio or video format that I can think of.
Tell me how this is better than VLC and I’ll switch!
It doesn’t matter to me if you switch or not. Different people like different software. KMPlayer has a lot of nice features most of which I don’t even use. For quality, looks and being user friendly it is great for me. VLC might be better in certain areas and more for power users. I tried it and didn’t like it. But on my WinXP Pro, 2.8 GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI HD2400 256MB video card, X-FI music sound card, KMPlayer works beautifully. No pixelated picture on my machine as like dipen stated. Everyone should run the one that is best for them and KMPlayer is great for me.
Picture gets pixelated in KM Player.
A warning is in place here, it installs the Ask-toolbar despite that I unticked the box to install.
For me that is a nono, so I uninstalled it rightaway.
You probably unticked, but you must also click DECLARE the agreement 🙂 They did it with purpose to cheat some users 🙂
OK did not see that, thanks for your reply, but it still is a reason for me not to install.
