iPhone OS 4 brings 7 New key Features

Apple previewed iPhone OS 4 late yesterday and it also released iPhone OS 4.0 beta to iPhone Developer Program members.The iPhone OS 4 beta release includes an updated SDK with over 1,500 new APIs and over 100 new features that will be available to iPhone and iPod touch users this summer.

This new version of iPhone has seven major improvements for Apple fans, altogether over 100 new features have been added in iPhone OS 4.0.

iPhone OS 4.0 Major features include:

  • Multitasking
  • Folders creation
  • Improved Email
  • iBooks support
  • Enhanced Enterprise support with better data protection
  • Game Center
  • Apple’s new iAd mobile advertising platform

  • “iPhone OS 4 is the fourth major release of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, said. “We’re delivering over 100 new features, including multitasking, folders, a unified inbox, deeper Enterprise support, and an iPhone version of our iBooks reader and online iBookstore.”

    Only the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch (3rd generation) devices will get all the new features and the new OS will be available starting this June.
