A month ago we came to know that Google registered a domain and developing an app called “Photovine” , a photo sharing application for iOS devices. Now the Photovine app was out of closed beta testing and available to everyone for download .
Photovine is a photo-sharing application for iOS that puts an emphasis photo-centric moments or ideas that connect you with other users.”Plant a photo, watch it grow” is its tagline , which means the service groups images together using common photo-driven themes. These groupings, called vines, let you connect with strangers while sharing photos of everyday items that you wouldn’t otherwise have any interest in photographing.
Google explains that “Photovine is a fun way to learn more about your friends, meet new people, and share your world like never before. It all starts with what we call a photovine: a group of photos around a single, shared caption. Start a new vine with a photo and caption of your own or add your photo/take on someone else’s vine.”
Watch below video which shows how Photovine works and how “vines” can be created to share information :
Photovine is an iOS app that runs on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad devices running iOS 4.2 or later , I wonder why Google doesn’t released Android version of this app.
Hello Ramakanth,
Thanks for the article. If it is interesting for some German readers, I have written an article about photovine in German language. I’ll post my link here, if it is okay – if not, you may remove it.
