Firefox 10 Final Released

January 31, 2012 Off By Ramakanth

Mozilla today pushed the major and latest version Firefox 10 to it’s FTP sites and it is now available for download for PC, Mac and Linux desktop platforms. The Firefox 10 final version brings a large number of bug fixes and few changes such as better extension management, a  minor interface tweak that will auto hide  forward button, improvements to CSS3 capabilities, antialiasing support for WebGL,  and addition of few features .

The major improvement in this version is how Firefox 10 handles extensions  (addons)  upon auto-updating to the new browser version.  Instead of rejecting extensions not specifically made for Firefox 10, it will assume extensions are compatible unless otherwise noted. Most extensions compatible with Firefox 4 will work fine on Firefox 10.

Also Firefox 10 is  the first Extended Support Release(ESR ) version, which is made for enterprise IT professionals that receives only necessary security fixes, and will change versions once every seven releases,  the next ESR release will be around November. Firefox ESR version will be upgraded every 42 weeks, or seven times slower than the “standard” build of the browser.

The Android version of Firefox 10 will be officially released  on Wednesday, the Android  version will get multitouch gesture support and  Firefox Sync will  be updated to allow users to sync their phone or table with Firefox without having to be at their desktop computer.
