CyanogenMod 10 Preview for Galaxy S3 Released

Recently Google released source code of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS to the Android Open Source Project, many developers started porting the new operating system to popular Android Phones such as Galaxy S3.

Now Cyanogen Mod team, the famous Android developers officially released CM 10 or CyanogenMod 10 Preview based on latest Android 4.1 OS for Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) devices.

CM 10 ROM is now available for download for International Galaxy S III i9300 devices, interested users can try this Preview and experience Jelly Bean from this early build on their phonew, before they get an official update from Samsung.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed.TeamHacksung has released a preview build for the i9300 that gives users a little taste of CM10 in its infancy.

Disclaimer : First of all this is a PREVIEW ,so CyanogenMod 10 is nowhere near ready to be used as a daily driver (lots of features still have to be merged), and same is the device support. Check  the KNOWN ISSUES from below list.

Known issues are as follows:

– FMradio, heh!
– Camera is unstable, though taking pics should work
– Wi-Fi tethering is semi-broken

– Camera is now part of Gallery, that’s why you might have two (because of Gapps)
– If you have no Camera icon in app drawer, remember you have a lockscreen.

HOW TO INSTALL CM10 on Galaxy S3 ?

1.Make sure to  install  or run  CM9 or an AOSP-based ROM  on your device, before installing CM 10
2. Download CyanogenMod 10 the zip
3.Download Gapps
4.Install the update zip from recovery
5.Install gapps
