Arma: Cold War Assault is also known as Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis is a tactical shooter. This battlefield simulator game is developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio and published by Codemasters in 2001.
The game became genre-defining combat military simulation and won many international awards. Over 2 million copies of Operation Flashpoint have been sold since its release.
In 2011, Bohemia Interactive re-released the game. The game uses objectives and weaponry appropriate to the Cold War, the period of geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union that lasted from 1947 to 1991.

Operation Flashpoint‘s gameplay varies significantly depending on the player’s role, but the game is best described as a tactical shooter with significant vehicle elements and minor real-time tactics elements.
The gameplay is largely team-oriented and the player spends much of the game with a squad of up to 11 AI-controlled members, either as a member of the squad or as its leader.
Operation Flashpoint features a wide variety of Cold War-era equipment. The firearms range from standard-issue military assault rifles such as the M16A2 and the AK-74, machine guns.
Storyline
The horrors of WWIII are imminent. There are clashes over the Malden Islands from dusk to dawn and you are caught in-between. You must use all of the available resources in your arsenal to hold back the incoming darkness. Victor Troska came back to Nogovo, he thought the pain of war was left buried in his past.
But his dream lies broken now.
His worst nightmare returns when military forces land near Nogovo.
