Posted by

Few days back we have seen CM 9 ICS build was released for Galaxy S2 and now an official Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for Samsung Galaxy S II was leaked and available for download. The leaked build “XXKP8″ has  latest  Android 4.0.3 ICS  OS  along with Samsung  official Touchwiz  user interface and only works on the international version of the Galaxy S II .

Although on December 31,  two official builds of ICS for galaxy s2 was leaked : build XXKP4 with  Android 4.0.1 & build XXKP8 with Android 4.0.3 , but according to Sam mobile the build “XXKP8″ was better and stable compared to build XXKP4. As a reminder I have to mention that, this is a leaked ROM, not official and may has bugs and will not suitable for daily usage.

How to install leaked Android 4.0.3 ICS Rom on Samsung Galaxy S2?

1.First download leaked build Android 4.0.3 ICS XXKP8 from here[320MB]

2.Now Extract the RAR file and you can find following  4 files:

ODIN 1.83,

3.Now “Power off” your galaxy s2 device and out y our device into download mode. To enter download mode : press and hold Volume down + Home + Power simultaneously and finally hit “Volume Up” to continue.

4.Now in your PC open ODIN 1.83 and connect Galaxy S II to your PC  through USB cable.

Note: Wait for theID:Com box to turn yellow and make sure only Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time is ticked in the options

5.Now in ODIN Click on PDA and select: I9100_CODE_I9100XXKP8_CL42141_REV02_user_low_ship. tar.md5   file from the extracted zip file(step 2).

Note :     A. There will be 3 files with same name, select the file which has 589 MB (589,531 KB) size.

6.Next click on PHONE and select: MODEM_I9100XXKP8_REV_02_CL1092599.tar.md5
7.Next click on CSC and select: GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXAKP8.tar.md5
8.Once again check whether, PDA,Phone,CSC files are selected and click on “Start” button.

9.Now ODIn will flash the ROM, don’t disconnect the cable or turn off the device, it will reboot when it finishes.

10.Once your phone is rebooted, remove the USB cable from the device.

My experience with this Rom:

I installed and tested this ROM, although  the rom is smooth, but it has many bugs and I strongly say it is not suitable enough for Daily usage. I noticed face-lock feature isn’t working,Home button functions are replaced  and Samsung Touchwiz UI totally destroyed the ICS feel.
