Alba: A Wildlife Adventure and Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun are now free on Epic’s PC marketplace until November 17, 2022.

It’s okay if you haven’t heard of either of these games; they’re both independent titles being given away for free on the Epic Games Store.

It’s easy to see that the two indie games were complete opposites of one another. There is a clear divide between the two games’ intended audiences; one is designed for a lighthearted experience, while the other is deemed “hardcore.”

About Alba: A Wildlife Adventure:

This game tells the tale of a PC who is tasked with saving the island.
The game lasts two to four hours, and players can explore the island, scan its inhabitants, and interact with them (though it’s worth noting that many of the island’s inhabitants are different kinds of birds).

It’s a great game to play for a few hours at a time or to break up into shorter sessions. Regardless, Alba is known for its relaxed atmosphere, so fans shouldn’t expect anything too intense.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, on the other hand, is not a casual or relaxing game in any way. It’s meant to be a tough game of stealth tactics. The level of difficulty depends on how good the player is, but by definition, it is hard.

The game is about a group of assassins in Edo-era Japan who are hired by the new shogun and sent all over the country to keep the peace by any means necessary. It combines real-time tactics and stealth in an innovative way that rewards careful attention to detail and environment mastery.

Over the course of 20 hours, players will engage in 13 main missions, each of which is fraught with consequences.

In this tactical RPG, once one minute has elapsed, the game displays a countdown to prompt the player to save their progress. Although players aren’t forced to think strategically, the game’s minute-to-minute gameplay is built to test their mettle at every turn.
