Adobe announced the release of the final version of a development tool called Adobe Flash Builder 4 along with Flex 4 and ColdFusion Builder.

Adobe Flash Builder 4 is considered as next generation Flash development tool for building multi-platform rich Internet applications (RIAs).The company said that the Flash Builder 4 enables enhanced integration with various data back ends including PHP, ColdFusion, Java and Adobe LiveCycle and introspection and consumption of REST and SOAP based services.

Along with flex 4 framework,flash Builder 4 integrates with Adobe’s new Flash Catalyst tool, creating an easy workflow for both designer and developer.

In addition, the company also added a new social service to its Adobe Flash Platform Services that streamlines integration between web applications and social networks using Facebook Connect, Sign-in with Twitter, MySpaceID and LinkedIn.

Key Developments in these Final release include:

  • The revolutionary Spark components in Flex 4 enable far more expressive interfaces to be easily created, and pave the way for Flash Catalyst.
  • The Data-Centric-Development (DCD) capabilities of Flash Builder make it radically easier to work with data and web services.
  • Flash Builder’s new developer productivity features such as advanced debugging and improved refactoring, coupled with compiler performance improvements make Flex development faster and easier.
  • * ColdFusion Builder addresses the number one request of the CF community, providing extensive IDE capabilities and making CF development much more productive.

    Cost:
    Flash Builder 4 comes in two versions, Standard costs $249 and he Premium edition is $699.Premium contains the below features, that are not available in Standard edition

  • Memory and performance profilers
  • An automated testing harness so you can connect to all the leading testing tools
  • FlexUnit support
  • command-line build capability
