Windows 8 beta was released for masses to preview upcoming windows OS, the windows 8 consumer preview arrived with new interface called “Metro” which removed start button or Start menu on windows taskbar. The lack of a start button and start menu in Windows 8 was a big annoyance for me and generally windows lovers.
The Metro interface in Windows 8 is very good and like the interface, but I think it is designed for smartphones and doesn’t work well on non-touch laptop or desktop PC. Also Microsoft didn’t provide an option to add start button to desktop mode, this was a big negative for the new OS.
Metro UI will be apt for tablets & smart phones, but this UI is inappropriate for non-technical users for everyday Windows experience,I think Microsoft will fix this issue in Windows 8 final version, otherwise people will stick for Windows. Also I think Windows 8 without the Metro UI will be the best version of Windows that Microsoft has produced.
