On Monday the world most popular Mobile Browser maker Opera launched its own mobile Application store called Opera Mobile Store. The Opera Mobile Store will be available in over 200 countries for all popular mobile platforms including Android, JAVA BlackBerry, Palm, and Symbian.
For this mobile Web store, the Norwegian browser maker partnered with Appia and signed a three-year deal. The app store features over 140,000 free and paid applications for smartphones.
Opera said that the store will be available via a “speed dial” button on its own browser, which it says is installed on 100 million phones. So you can access Opera Mobile Store either on Opera Mobile and Opera Mini browsers or on other mobile browsers.
“The launch of the Opera Mobile Store supports Opera’s core belief in an open, cross-platform mobile Internet experience by providing Opera users with an integrated storefront of mobile applications,” Opera Executive Vice President Mahi de Silva said in a statement.
Opera said that during February the store attracted 15 million users from 200 countries and provided more than 700,000 downloads per day. The Opera Mobile Store is accessible at http://mobilestore.opera.com/
