JAJAH@Call – Make Free Phone Calls Via Twitter
JAJAH a VOIP provider,  launched a new and interesting service called JAJAH@Call (beta) ,which allows JAJAH users with a Twitter account to make free phone calls via Twitter microblogging service. @calls are made without revealing your number and without needing to know the number of the person you wish to call — all you need is their Twitter username.

The funny thing is just like Twitter where you tweet for 140 characters, here you are allowed to make only two-minute (140 words?) free phone calls to any Twitter user who is also a user of this service.

So how does it work?

To initiate a call, you have send a tweet with “@call @twittername” where “twittername” is the username of the person you wish to call. If that person follows you on Twitter, a free two-minute call the verbal equivalent of a tweet will be initiated. All contact details will be kept private, but you and the person you wish to call must be JAJAH members.

JAJAH@call doesn’t care how you use Twitter, whether it’s on a computer or mobile phone, at Twitter directly or using a Twitter-client such as Seesmic (web and desktop), TwitterBerry (BlackBerry), Tweetie and Twitterfon (iPhone), and Twidroid (Android). The Only requirement you have send a tweet to the person you wish to call.

It sounds great, but i have some doubts on this serviceFrst, will it be limited only to US numbers or it will be widespread to all countries, second how this will work on certain cell phone carriers like
AT&T,there is news about blocking VOIP and third one, is there any protection from spammers.

Mashable went on to throw a few funny ‘worst case scenarios’ into the mix: “We can just envision the uncomfortable greetings now. Hello, I’m so and so, and I follow you on Twitter, my Twitter name is XXXX. Do you want to go out on a date sometime? Or, say for instance, you’re in the middle of a sentence and reach the 2 minute limit and you’re both cut off from each other.”

However making call using Twitter is innovative, which will advance the usage of Twiiter.

To get started, sign up on JAJAH and keep up to date via the @call on account Twitter.
