Gmail out of beta

Gmail has been in beta phase for so long(5 years ) that it is hard to believe that it has finally stripped it’s beta tag. Google on Tuesday announced that Google Apps including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Talk  are finally out of beta.

I didn’t see any new changes apart from a new graphic without the word “beta,”.  However Google Apps is getting some new features, but that’s for enterprise users.

Google explains their decision to remove the beta tage came along when they realized that some businesses were hesitant to make the switch due to the perceived notion that the Apps weren’t ready for “prime time”.

Furthermore, Google vows to continue to innovate and improve on their entire suite of online applications (including Gmail) despite them no longer being in beta form.
