If your goal is to work in the IT profession, you are going to need to have the certification to back up your degree. You may have already considered which types of certifications are best for your future career, and you may have already gained a few certifications. While this type of preparation can help you in your job search, there are unique benefits that you can gain from earning an Apple certification.
The primary benefit that you’ll be gaining when you achieve certification from Apple is the type of prestige that will be associated with your certification. Certification through Apple places your certification on the Apple Certified Professionals Registry and earns you a personalized certificate with the Apple certification logo. In the computer and IT industry, Apple is often seen as a technical innovator. By earning a certification from their company, you are telling potential employers that you are interested in keeping up with the recent market trends.
Another benefit is that you’ll have your technical expertise validated. Many recently graduated university students think that a degree will prove their skills, but to an employer, only a certification can do this.
As part of the process to prove your skills and knowledge, you’ll be required to take proctored exams through Apple. You can choose to take exams in OS X, Pro Apps, and iWork.
