According to Kaspersky’s statistics, almost one in every 500 web addresses posted on Twitter lead to sites hosting malware . The spread of malware is aided by the popular use of shortened URLs on Twitter which tend to hide the real website address from users before they click on a link preventing them from knowing where they are going.

JAJAH a VOIP provider,  launched a new and interesting service called JAJAH@Call (beta) ,which allows JAJAH users with a Twitter account to make free phone calls via Twitter microblogging service. @calls are made without revealing your number and without needing to know the number of the person you wish to call — all you need is their Twitter username.

The funny thing is just like Twitter where you tweet for 140 characters, here you are allowed to make only two-minute (140 words?) free phone calls to any Twitter user who is also a user of this service.

Today Microsoft Corp and Yahoo Officially announced the agreement of 10 year partnership to collaborate on search technology as well as search advertising.

Amazon Buys Zappos

Amazon announced that it will be acquiring popular online shoe retailer Zappos.com for for 10 million Amazon shares or $807 millions. But Techcrunch reports that the price of Zappo’s stock will actually drive the deal up to around $920 millions.

Ahead of it’s schedule yahoo today launched it’s new Home page. After trying this page for a while I can say that the new Yahoo home page had left a good impression on me.

This new home page is more customizable than the older one ,now you can add “apps”(third party services) to a list of “My Favorites” option,which will be displayed in left side bar. You can choose apps from the recommended list which include popular web services like ebay, Twitter,Myspace  e.t.c or you can add your own  services by entering the URL and name.
