Today Intel has announced that the Company had bought security software firm McAfee for $7.68 billion or $48 per share.This is somewhat interesting and shocking move from the chip company, it seems we will be getting security at the chip level itself.

Amazon Buys Zappos

Amazon announced that it will be acquiring popular online shoe retailer Zappos.com for for 10 million Amazon shares or $807 millions. But Techcrunch reports that the price of Zappo’s stock will actually drive the deal up to around $920 millions.

According to Global Gaming Factory Press Release,File sharing firm The Pirate Bay has been bought for $7.7 million (60 million Swedish crowns) by Global Gaming Factory X AB(GGF).
The new owners said that they will develop methods to pay for copyright downloads and had a business plan that will cater for both copyright owners and content providers.
According to a post on The Pirate Bay blog the current team behind the site recognise that the figure was a lot less than the site was actually worth, but claimed it was more important to find the right buyer than the right price.

San Francisco based Blog search and tracking company Technorati has purchased AdEngage, an online ad network that reportedly serves over 12 billion ads across 4,000 websites per month.Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
AdEngage’s platform to lay groundwork for self-service ad network, Technorati Engage, which targets blogs and social media sites. Engage went live in private alpha yesterday.

PollDaddy was never related to GoDaddy, but now it is part of the WordPress family. Automattic
, the developer of the WordPress blogging platform, has acquired Irish startup Polldaddy
for an undisclosed sum.
The purchase gives WordPress an infusion of polling technology and seems to be justified simply on the basis that bloggers love polls.
