It’s official now,today the Computing giant Apple’s founder and CEO  Steve Jobs revealed a  new tablet computer  and it’s name is Apple iPad.

Steve Jobs:

“That’s a tall order — better than a laptop at browsing the web? Enjoying and sharing photos, videos, enjoying music, playing games, reading e-books.”

“In order to create a new category of devices, those devices will have to be far better at doing some key tasks — important things — better than the laptop and smartphone. What kind of tasks? Things like browsing the web…”

- iPhone, MacBooks — “Everyone uses a laptop and/or a smartphone. The question has arisen lately: is there room for a third category device in the middle?”
and it is “iPad.”

Here are the Specifications of iPad :

• 9.7 inch IPS display, 0.5 inches thin, 1.5 pounds in weight.
• MEMORY SIZE: 16, 32, or 64 GB Flash storage
• 1 GHz Apple A4 chip,802.11n, WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR.
• BATTERY LIFE: 10 hours and over a month of Standby
• Includes Speaker, Microphone, 30-pin connector, Accelerometer, and compass

Other specs:

Standard apps that come pre-loaded on the device include a mobile Safari web browser, an e-book reader app called iBooks, a two-pane calendar app, two-pane email app, contacts, notes, Google Maps, media player, photo viewer, iTunes store, and App Store to download third-party applications and games.

Coming to the price it’s not $999, but the basic Apple iPad (16 GB) will cost $499.. The iPad will come in 16, 32, and 64GB capacities for $499, $599, and $699, respectively.

Cons:

The Appel iPad will be available in late March worldwide and the Wi-Fi + 3G models of iPad will be available in April in the US and selected countries,
