How All My Storage Works

On your first run of the application All My Storage will request access to your Known Folders Documents Library. This will allow the application to create a default account “My Local Documents”. To navigate into the account simply click the orange header bar. This opens a simple File Explorer from which you can navigate your local system.

Linking A Cloud Storage Account

You can link as many Dropbox and Local Storage accounts as you want. Only one SkyDrive account is currently relevant.

1. Expose the AppBar on Recently Used Files Screen or Manage Accounts Screen by tapping or right-clicking the screen.

2. Select MANAGE ACCOUNTS button in AppBar.

3. On the MANAGE ACCOUNTS Screen you can Add/Remove/Suspend Cloud Storage Accounts such as SkyDrive and Dropbox (future versions of the application will include several other providers such as Azure, Amazon, Carbonite etc). You can also link to further local storage account folders for quick access.

4. Click the LINK NEW ACCOUNT AppBar button – this will open the registration screen where you can select which type of account you wish to link.

5. Select either “My Local File System” and provider a root folder location, or select SkyDrive or Dropbox from the list provided.

6. Give your account a name = “e.g. Larry’s Dropbox” or “My SkyDrive” and Click the Link button.

7. Click the Allow button on the Account Information Opt-In screen after agreeing to our Privacy Policy.

8. If the account you are linking to is from a 3rd party provider(SkyDrive/Dropbox), you will need to enter your account credentials in the dialog provided on the “Connecting to a service” screen. Please note we do not store any of your personal information.

9. If the account you are linking to is from a 3rd party provider(SkyDrive/Dropbox) you will now need to authorize All My Storage to access this account – do so.

10. Adding an account will create a reference to your cloud storage account and allow interaction from this dashboard.
