One of the major problems that exist on the Internet is insecurity in browsing Websites.Today there are thousands of Internet sites that apparently seem to be safe but in fact they hide malicious code inside them (that exploit browser vulnerabilities and additions) and discharges infections to the systems or to other websites.Although you may have good Antivirus or Internet security on your system but they act only after the attack of virus.

However, there are some specialized online tools and applications to detect fraudulent websites and potentially dangerous, backed by prestigious security companies and through which users can learn how safe a Website is.

Among those online tools we picked 5 Best web tools that allow us to know how reliable is a website, and have full confidence to navigate it without any problems. These tools work in a simple way, just type the URL of the website you want to analyze, then these tools will yield corresponding results regarding the site .

5 Tools to Detect Hazardous websites are:

  1. McAfee Site Advisor:

This Award winning scanning tool for websites is supported by the security firm McAfee. It also offers a version that can be downloaded and installed on the PC, in conjunction with the web browser plug-in or addon of your choice.

  2. LinkScanner Online:

This is the fastest of all that we had the opportunity to try.Its operation is more simple, just type the URL along with captcha code and get results immediately.

  3. Norton Safe Web:

Another tool backed by a prestigious security firm, in this case by Symantec. Not as fast as before, this tool does not provide information about a site which was not indexed by Norton.

  4. Anti-malware tool by Google:

This safe browsing diagnostic tool is supported by Big G,For example, to test this site, you would enter http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=http://techno360.in/. Google will then return four sets of security information about that page.
If you want to test any other site, just replace the site URL with your URL after equal (=) to symbol.

  5. WOT:
    WOT means Web Of Trust

WOT is an extension(addon) – that is a small program – which can be added to Firefox or Internet Explorer.I think this one is best among all.
Each time you do a search or check a website, WOT shows you whether the site is reliable or not.. It will keep you safe from online scams, identity theft, spyware, spam, viruses and unreliable shopping sites.

WOT offers security(i.e decides the site is dishonest or not) based on two sources:

    * Opinions or votings by WOT Community users
    * Reputable sources such as SpamCop, hpHosts, JoeWein, DNS-BH, PhishTank and others who are specialized.

One thing to note with these tools is that they are not always effective, better said, one should not blindly trust their reports. This often happens with sites that have not yet been analyzed, usually the newest, and some cheat to achieve as safe sites in automatic analysis.
